STATISTICAL DATA OF CANCER CASES IN SAINT PETERSBURG, 2011–2015

The main medico-statistical data on the observation of malignant neoplasms among inhabitants of Saint Petersburg aid were analyzed for the period of 2011–2015. Despite the increase in the number of citizens in Saint Petersburg patients with neoplasms, the quality of analysis and treatment of sick neoplasms was at the proper level. During the period examined there was an increase in the professional load on oncologists of medical organizations of the city. This has been prompted by increased technological and organizational advances in timely identification of neoplasms and treatment of patients, and also social features associated with migratory processes taking place in the Russian Federation. The introduction of new informational technologies in the practice of health care in Saint Petersburg under the realization of health care programmes in the Russian Federation with regard to collecting, processing, storage and analysis of medico-statistical data on neoplasm cases among residents remains a priority task in respect to perfecting the organization of the fight against cancer.
