Ensuring a high level of quality of care is the main task of any medical organization. The first stage of its solution is proper quality control. In the article, problems that make it difficult to solve these problems are considered. They are: the imperfection of the legislative base, the lack of a clear understanding of the quality criteria by the leaders of medical organizations and subjects of control, different approaches to its evaluation and interpretation of indicators, the lack of differentiation of tasks for achieving certain indicators by management levels, the recommendatory nature of orders and standards for the need for their compliance, the lack of systematic approach to the organization of control and quality assurance, the lack of special training for managers in the field of quality management. Only a systematic approach to solving these problems will lead to a significant improvement in the quality of medical care.
