Editorial Policy of the Journal
The journal publishes works of Russian and foreign scientists from different medicine organizations, universities, scientific institutes, including medical department and depertment of stomatology and medical technologies of Saint Petersburg State University, which covers the main fields of fundamental and applied medicine.
The journal publishes the papers:
- with the results of original investigations, which were not published earlier, of Russian and foreign scientists;
- prepared by the results of joint projects implementation of foreign scientists, scientists of Saint Petersburg State University and other Russian universities;
- articles prepared by conference reports by the decision of editorial board and by agreement of organizing committee of All-Russian conferences with international participation;
- independent survey articles;
- special papers (anniversary and others).
Leading Russian and foreign specialists of the leading world universities, universities of Russia and Saint-Petersburg (scientists and lecturers) are get involved (on a voluntary basis) as an experts (reviewer). Experts, as a rule, are professors, Doctor of Science in medicine and biology. Expert’s selection is performed by editorial board members, supervising respective directions and by editor-in-chief and approved at the editorial board meetings.
In its policy, the Editorial Board follows the recommendations provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and Peer Review Guidelines.
Periodicity of the journal issue is four times per year.
The Journal is included in the list of the leading refereed academic journals and periodicals recommended by the Higher Attestation Committee at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, assigned for publication of the key results of doctoral dissertations (including the both Russian doctoral degrees: candidate and Doctor of science in Medicine).

Policy of informed consent
If the work involves the use of animal or human subjects, the author should ensure that the manuscript contains a statement that all procedures were performed in compliance with relevant laws and institutional guidelines and that the appropriate institutional committee(s) have approved them. Authors should include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects.
Studies on patients or volunteers require ethics committee approval and informed consent, which should be documented in the paper. Identifying information, including names, initials, or hospital numbers, should not be published in written descriptions, photographs, or pedigrees unless the information is essential for scientific purposes and the patient (or parent or guardian) gives written informed consent for publication. Herein, patient is provided with the opportunity to look through the manuscripts, submitted to publication and he will be informed about acceptability of the published material in Internet or in printed form after its publication. Permission is prepared in written form and is stored in editorial board and about received patient permission is reported in the published paper. If identifying characteristics are depersonalized, the authors should guarantee and the editorial board should accept, that these modifications will not impair scientific merit. Photographs of the people with any easy recognizable peculiarities are supported by their written remissions of a claim, permitting its publication. In case of patient death, permission on publication should be received from patient’s relatives, and if relatives can’t provide this permission, the manuscript will be accepted and published in the case if identifying information is sufficiently anonymizеd and hidden. The authors should store written permission, based on received information, and its copy must be provided on request of the editor.
Advertizing policy
Any publicity submitted to editorial office must comply with the legislation of Russian Federation and the Federal Law "On Advertising" dated 13.03.2006 No. 38-FZ, in particular, including all the corrections and additions, meanwhile, additional place for publicity should not exceed 5 % from the place provided for publication.
