The “Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University. Medicine” is a quarterly peer-reviewed medical journal. The journal was established in December 2005 as the “Vestnik of Saint-Petersburg University. Series 11. Medicine”. The first issue published in March 2006 and the journal has been published regularly since then. In the following years, it became demanded by Russian and foreign authors. In 2018 the title became “Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University. Medicine”.
The journal is multidisciplinary, publishes original research articles, review articles, case reports, clinical trials, articles on historical topics of medicine and on fundamental medical issues in an open access format.
The authors of the papers are leading Russian and foreign scientists, physicians, as well as young specialists and research workers carrying out perspective research and having great personal experience in the field of medical and biological sciences.
The Journal aims to encourage the international exchange of results and encourages authors from all countries to submit papers. Manuscripts from the international scientific community are to cater to the interests of our broad readership, both regional and worldwide and to increase the opportunities for fruitful interregional scientific collaboration.
The goals of the journal are to promote publication manuscripts with the results of original, previously unpublished research of Russian and foreign scientists, including based on the results of joint projects carried out by foreign scientists, scientists of St. Petersburg State University and representatives of other high schools of Russian Federation and the International Community.
The Journal is included in the list of the leading refereed academic journals and periodicals recommended by the Higher Attestation Committee at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, assigned for publication of the key results of doctoral dissertations (including the both Russian doctoral degrees: the PhD and the Doctor of Medicine).
